Remaining within the system, scrutinizing, breaking out.

We open within the framework of steirischer herbst
and would be pleased to welcome you.

Part of the system deals with subsystems, which go almost to the limits or
operate far from legality. People use them to come to terms with everyday
life or to merely secure their survival. Very often you deal with structures
which are linked to society itself. The official side is mostly not pleased
with them. Sometimes their existence is denied.

The exhibition features seven artists from Eastern Europe. The artists
present contributions deriving from the cultural context they live in.
Hence, the artists are part of the whole system and observe a subsystem
within.

>> MEDIA COOPERATION

Seven art magazines appear as media partners. They provide essential
information on contemporary art, especially on Eastern Europe. They all
